About Us

History

APKOS is a sentiment, and an emotion that has spilled out of the hearts of likeminded people of CBSE fraternity. It resulted in the formation of Association of Principals of Kerala Oriented CBSE Schools (APKOS). APKOS stands for the welfare of Principals and Teachers of CBSE Schools. It is an attempt to redefine the essence and spirit of ‘ ASSOCIATION’ for the benefit and betterment of CBSE fraternity. The idea was mooted by the visionary president of APKOS – Mr. FRANCIS K.A. To the surprise of every one, Principals across the state of Kerala embraced the concept and joined hands with him for a good social cause.

President Speaks

Dear Educators,

Time and again we thought what would bring us together. A togetherness  that would  evoke new ideas, a new thought process which can bring positive changes in our system. We can support each other, shoulder the responsibilities and worries to  soothe the condition. Beginning of APKOS was from this simple thought. The idea was welcomed by everyone. We have a clear vision and objectives about what APKOS should be and it is made known to all and we do not want to deviate from it.

Apprehensive attitudes and suspicious eyes would change in due course when people realise the worth of it by its way of functioning. We are not in a hurry, time will prove everything.  It is a matter of great surprise and honour to recall the fact that the association received overwhelming support from every part of the state and its presence is strong in every district and every Taluk of Kerala.

I am thankful to the school managements and principals for their support and let us work together to strengthen the CBSE fraternity.

~ Francis K.A , President APKOS

Organization

APKOS functions at a three tier system. The State Committee at the top consists of 15 members selected from different parts of Kerala who takes and makes the policy for the entire state. At the District level a seven member team of  the District committee coordinates the work in consultation with the State committee. The third level of the system is the Taluk committee formed in the same pattern of District Committee. This  seven member team in 78 Taluks in Kerala, in consultation with the District and state committee  would take care of the welfare of schools, principals and teachers across the state. This would replicate the principles enshrined in the NEP-2020. Resource sharing , group activity and cordial relations will be established at every level.
